DPW Showdown in Cary II Review !

Once again, DPW put on one of the best shows of the year which featured Multiple Great Matches and showed us what they have got for their next, and probably their last show.

1) Calvin Tankman vs. Manny Lo
First of all i would like to say That Manny Lo is an Criminally underrated performer, It isn't that easy to play an underdog while also being a heel, And he understood his role and played it perfectly in a way that reminds me of 2022 Adam Priest, He has a long journey ahead of him but he always shows that he has great potential and he had his best performance to date in this match, Tankman was a BEAST as always, his Elbows really HIT HARD, Manny was a great seller and bumper in this match and he really got the crowd to hate him, even though their is always room to improve his facial expressions but overall he was good, Overall this was a fun opener and they did the best they could in the little time they had !
3*

2) Amanda Kiss vs Leah Night
This is my first time watching both women and i think it was a really good introduction to both of them, they did some creative spots and the structure was alright but i really wished they were more violent but i understood what they wanted to do, a fun match that got the crowd going but it really wasn't for me, but it was fun!

3) Dani Luna vs. Jada StoneDANI LUNA IS ONE OF THE BEST THAT DO IT IN THE WORLD TODAY.
this was really damn good, it had everything the previous match had but with more intensity, Dani's character work is really great, Jada Showed out with her fighting spirit and dani fucking EVERY MOMENTEM JADA HAD WHAT A FUCKING HEEL.

3*

4) Adam Priest vs. Anthony Henry
AWWWW, GONNA CRY ASSHOLE?

What a match, i really liked their first and imo this was slightly better, Priest was MAD since he lost the title on super battle and he really showed that perfectly, i am a freak for limp work and he worked BOTH henry's leg and neck flawlessly, That mixed with henry's selling is what makes this match slightly better, unlike their first match this wasn't a grappling focused match this was A FIGHT, the spot where henry was gonna superplex priest over the top rope and they both fell was kinda awkward and that it knocked down the rating a little bit, i really liked both men's character work, overall this was one hell of a match, both men showed out and did a great job.
4*

5) Trevor Lee vs. BK Westbrook - DPW National Championship Eliminator
This match had no business being as good as it was, I mean both BK and Trevor lee and GREAT wrestlers so i raised my expectations for this match but DAMN, If Priest is the best heel in the world today, Trevor lee is a close second, he was great in his offence, his heel work was PHENOMENAL, he really knows how to work the crowd into hating him, him using every chance he got to keep working on BK's bleeding head, and THIS. THIS IS THE BK I WANNA SEE, he was a great underdog and kept fighting this whole match, BK followed the Steamboat rule and kept fighting whenever he was down, a good babyface is a babyface who keeps telling the crowd that they are standing behind a fighter, AND BK WAS A FIGHTER, It had some pretty good striking, i love Trevor lee's offence because he hits like he HATES YOU, both men keep improving every match they have and this match is the best match of both men's careers, insane in ring chemistry between the two, this was a show stealer and the best match on the show.
4.25*

6) Erick Stevens vs. Bryan Keith
Dudes Rock.
Stevens is a phenomenal worker, he really understand how you can tell a simple story in the ring, and the same can be said about Bryan keith, i really have no words to describe how good this match is because its a "you have to see it to understand it" type of match, i really loved how hard hitting it was, Stevens is a gem and we are lucky to have him in a ring again, Bryan Keith needs to be used more in AEW, Good match, HELL YEAH
3.5*

7) Miracle Generation (C) vs. BO-DASH - DPW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
DO YOU BELIVE IN MIRACLES!
This was another good match on the show, some fun tag team action but i was more invested on the story rather than the action but the action was alright too, i really loved the structure of the match especially the ending, it didn't have too many near falls but the near falls were used perfectly, BO-DASH are phenomenal and miracle gen are genuinely one of the best tag teams in NA right now, The ending was unpredictable and it really felt surprising, great job from all 4, this was FUN.
3.5*

8) Jake Something vs. Labron Kozone

HELL YEAH.
THIS. is how you present 2 champions and make it really feel like a big deal, THIS is how you make your champion shine like stars, God what a match it was, They both looked like monsters, Kozone was a great seller and also a good storyteller, i really like how he tried his best to keep Jake on the ground and target his arm, Something looked like a BEAST TOO, he focused on his striking which is good technique for a big guy to go with but he really understands the small details, whenever Kozone dropped him on the ground they both made it feel like a big deal but they also didn't exaggerate with it which also made Kozone look huge in this match, The super gut wrench suplex was arguably the sickest thing i saw in DPW this year, both men sold their asses out near the end and Kozone's final Lariat with Something kicking out at 4 was the best ending they could've done, this was a great showcase of champions, and a perfect ending to set up the championship match at the 4th anniversary, Dudes rock.
4*

Long Live DPW.
